King's Classical Academy is meeting at 17302 N. Newport Hwy, Mead, WA.

We will begin with grades K-8 this year, but plan to expand to a full K-12 school in the future.

We chose "learning levels" over traditional age-based grades (K-12) to foster individualized and mastery-based education. This approach recognizes that children learn at different paces and allows students to progress based on their comprehension and skill development rather than being confined to an arbitrary grade level tied to their age.

Here’s why this model is beneficial:

  1. Focus on Mastery: Learning levels ensure students fully grasp foundational concepts before moving on, reducing gaps in knowledge and building confidence in their abilities.
  2. Personalized Education: It tailors education to each child’s strengths and needs, offering advanced challenges or additional support as necessary.
  3. Flexibility for Growth: Students can excel in areas where they are stronger while receiving extra time in areas where they need development, fostering a well-rounded education.
  4. Collaboration and Community: Learning levels encourage collaboration across a broader range of ages and abilities, building a sense of community while reducing the stigma of being “ahead” or “behind.”

Alignment with Mission: This approach supports the goal of equipping students with discernment and critical thinking by emphasizing depth of learning rather than pace.

Yes, we have a uniform policy with the intent purpose of having a professional and unified environment. Please see our Uniform Policy HERE (will link when ready).

Classical education is another term for Liberal Arts.  The Liberal Arts go well beyond our commonplace understanding of a basic college degree.  The Liberal Arts are foundational to the way God designed us to learn.  The Trivium (three paths) and the Quadrivium (four paths) comprise the foundation of all learning. The Trivium focuses on the art (skill) of words and the Quadrivium the art (skill) of numbers.  An individual who has mastery of words and mastery of numbers can really go on to learn anything.  This is how classical education truly lays a foundation for lifelong learning.

We concentrate education into four core days. Instruction in core fields of study are given Tuesday through Friday, with Monday as a "practice or prepare day" at home. During this time, students practice what they've learned or prepare through reading (once a student is reading) for the next academic day.
